For the final time this season, Harry rounds up the reaction of the Loyal Royals.

So that's that then. What a way to end a season so full of turbulence, insanity and ridiculousness.

Donning a very fresh-looking new home kit, the Royals managed to put three really good goals past a Blackpool team who were still within a chance of getting into the top six at the start of play.

In the end we were deserved winners. The game, combined with the post-match scenes, the scenes in Purple Turtle later on Saturday night, and the whole occasion of the day made me so proud to be a Reading fan.

Here's how the fans reacted to the game...

A new kit!

One thing I don't think anybody was expecting was to see Reading walk out in a brand-new home kit, taking everybody by surprise.

Some people are really into kits, some not so much, but the fact the players walked out in it unannounced meant it was always likely to be a talking point.

For what's it worth I think it's really smart, and it'll be good to see Yids lift the League One trophy in it next year. Here's what the fans thought...

Ending with a win

If any group of supporters deserve to end the season with a win and a bit of optimism, it's us lot. We've been put through the wringer this season, through horrible on-the-pitch performances and insanity off it.

And it was a really good win, the atmosphere was great, and the players put in a really good performance - and the fans were delighted...

Feel-good feeling

There hasn't been a feel-good feeling like this around the club for a very, very long time. And Saturday summed that up perfectly.

Firstly, an amazing win and performance to end the season. And then the post-match lap of honour, and players and fans sharing a few drinks in Purple Turtle in the evening - it's a sign of the club on the up. All we need now is the ownership to be sorted pronto.

If we can keep this core group of players and staff together, and sort things out upstairs, we could have a really good season next year...

Conclusion

Another season done and dusted. Through doing these pieces I've been able to see firsthand the fans react to the lowest lows, of which there were many, all the way up to now, when optimism among the supporters is the highest I can remember for a long time.

It's been a hell of a season, figuratively and literally, but we got to the other side. And that is no mean feat when you consider what we've had to go through. Hopefully this is the start of something new and better. But time will tell.

Enjoy your break, and see you next season. URZ.
