Manchester United and Liverpool are both looking at signing the same player this summer after sending scouts to Europe this weekend.

TBR Football understands that the English duo both had representatives out on the lookout this weekend.

Both United and Liverpool are looking ahead to a busy summer where a number of new signings are expected to be brought in.

At Liverpool, the impending arrival of Arne Slot is likely to see new signings made. While at United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe knows that he needs to make an impression on fans by bringing in fresh faces.

A number of players are already being linked with moves to Old Trafford and Anfield.

And according to TBR Football sources, Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho is the man both clubs had eyes on this weekend.

Liverpool and Manchester United both keen on Willian Pacho

TBR Football understands that Liverpool and Manchester United were both represented at Bayern Munich’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.

Whilst big names such as Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka were on show – sources have told TBR Football that the main reason for the English giants being at the Allianz Arena was to monitor the progress of Willian Pacho.

The left-sided Ecuadorian centre-half has been earning rave reviews since moving to the Bundesliga in the summer and both Liverpool and United are in the market for defensive reinforcements.

Arne Slot’s first Liverpool signing?

Pacho is a player who is making waves over in Germany and Liverpool’s interest in him is nothing brand new.

Reports last week suggested he could be Liverpool’s first signing under Arne Slot and at around £43m, it would be a big outlay for the Reds.

Of course, Pacho is obviously doing something right and with Liverpool sending people in person to watch him at the weekend, there’s obviously a big interest in him.

For United, it’s no surprise to see them in the mix either. They are desperate for new defenders and Pacho is within the price range of what they’ll likely be looking to spend this season.

One to watch, then, for both Liverpool and United fans.
