'Where was he': Frank Leboeuf says Chelsea 23-year-old has 'no clue' how to play with teammates after 2-2 draw

That was pretty eventful for Chelsea after they came from 2-0 down to record a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.

Villa Park seems to be a special hunting ground for Mauricio Pochettino and his Chelsea players because they won earlier on in the year in the FA Cup.

Following a controversial VAR call, which disallowed a stoppage-time winner for the away team, it could have been another valuable win for the struggling Premier League club.

Instead, the London club had to rue on the fact that they conceded another early goal, after their 5-0 thumping at Arsenal, and were 2-0 down at the break.

But Chelsea came out fighting during the second half and deservedly walked away with a point.

There were many positives to take from the game and performances to be proud of for Pochettino.

But Frank Leboeuf was keen to highlight the performance of Mykhailo Mudryk and his disappointment at his display, as he told ESPN.

The former World Cup winner questioned 'where was he?' and stated that the 23-year-old has 'no clue' how to play with his teammates.

Whilst Noni Madueke impressed on one flank, including opening the scoring for his side, Chelsea's man on the left produced another abject display.

And it left Leboeuf frustrated, as he thinks that Mudryk no longer has any excuses.

"Now we have to talk about Mudryk as well," said Leboeuf. "Where was he?

"That's a problem (a common theme from Mudryk). You give time to a young player to adapt, especially when you come from a country at war, so psychologically, it's difficult.

"But it has been a while now. It works for his country because he is scoring goals for his country. It doesn't work with Chelsea. He goes fast, but he seems to lose it. He seems to have no clue how football can be played together with all his teammates. He has a feeling, subconsciously, he has something. Maybe a gift? But it's like he never learned to play with his teammates."

Chelsea v Tottenham

The players can no longer dwell on this performance, feel disappointed with themselves or express their anger at VAR.

They shouldn't have conceded early and they deserved to go 2-0 down.

Chelsea have to learn to play at 0-0, but their chances away and then they will find that the end result will be a different story.

If they can do that against Tottenham on Thursday night, then it bodes well for Pochettino and those who are questioning him.

This is a pretty ferocious London derby and the fans won't accept nothing but all three points here.
