Leyton Orient contract talks

Keeping hold of Sotiriou would be a boost for Leyton Orient ahead of next season.

He has been on the books of the London club for his whole career to date and has been a good servant to them so far.

The Cyprus international, who has one cap under his belt, made his first-team debut back in 2017 afetr rising up through the academy ranks at Brisbane Road.

Sotiriou had loan spells away at Heybridge Swifts, Leatherhead, Bishop’s Stortford, Chelmsford City, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Dover Athletic as a youngster to get some experience under his belt and boost his development.

He has since made 156 appearances for Leyton Orient in all competitions to date and has chipped in with 33 goals, seven of which came in this campaign.

The forward provides Richie Wellens with more competition and depth up top and it would be a blow to lose him over the next couple of months, especially on a free transfer.

The O’s have let a few players leave following the end of this term with Rob Hunt, Adam Thompson, Harrison Sodje, Emmanuel Harvest, Jephte Tanga and Ethan Light all heading out the exit door to clear up space and funds in their ranks.

Sol Brynn, Idris El Mizouni, Shaq Forde, Dan Adu-Adjei and Khayon Edwards have all returned to their parent club following the end of their loans.
