Swindon Town are on the hunt for a permanent boss and Derek Adams is in contention, reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.

Swindon Town finished the 2023/24 campaign in an underwhelming 19th place in the League Two table.

The Robins were far clear of the relegation fight but the tightly-packed division and poor form for the club left them way away from the play-off race they have been in and around beforer.

The team has been under the temporary lead of Gavin Gunning since January 2024, when they decided to part ways with Michael Flynn.

Now that the season has come to a close, Swindon Town will swiftly turn their attentions to naming a new boss and on Sunday, a potential contender was linked.

Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon states that Derek Adams is in the frame for the County Ground job. He has been listed as a candidate for other vacant posts too.

Adams, 48, is out of work after his third stint in charge of Ross County ended in February. South of the border, he’s held roles at Plymouth Argyle, Bradford City and Morecambe.
