Bradford City have offered a new deal to defender Matty Platt, as detailed on their retained list.

Bradford City are keen to keep hold of the centre-back ahead of next season.

Platt, 26, has been on the books of the League Two side since joining them from Barrow in 2022.

The Bantams have confirmed on their official club website that he has been offered fresh terms along with Colin Doyle and Jamie Walker.

Keeping hold of Platt for the next campaign would be a boost for Bradford City.

He is due to become a free agent at the end of next month as things stand and losing him for nothing would be a blow.

The Merseyside-born man provides the Bantams with more competition and depth at the back.

He moved to Valley Parade two years ago and has since made 89 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with three goals and two assists.

Platt started his career at Blackburn Rovers and rose up through the academy of the Championship side.

He went on to play five times for their first-team and was also shipped out on loan at Accrington Stanley and Southport to get some experience under his belt.

Barrow landed him on a temporary basis during the 2019/20 season and he helped them win promotion to the fourth tier under their former boss Ian Evatt before the Cumbrian side made his move permanent that summer.

Bradford City then handed him a two-year deal and are wanting to extend his stay now.

They have become the latest team to publish their retained list and have announced that the likes of Harry Chapman, Liam Ridehalgh, Luke Hendrie and Matt Derbyshire have been released.
