Coventry City, Swindon Town and Rangers keen on six-goal winger

Coventry City, Swindon Town and Rangers are keen on Macarthur FC winger Raphael Borges, according to a report by Football Insider.

Coventry City and Swindon Town are both interested in luring the attacker to England this summer.

Borges, 20, has caught the eye playing in the A-League over recent times.

Football Insider claim the Sky Blues, the Robins and Scottish giants Rangers have placed him on their radar ahead of the next transfer window.

Coventry City have missed out on the play-offs in the Championship this season and could see Borges as someone to freshen up their attacking department.

Swindon Town are preparing for another campaign in League Two and luring the Australia youth international to the fourth tier would be a statement of intent.

Borges would be guaranteed more regular game time with the Robins. The Wiltshire club have a big decision to make on who to appoint as their new permanent manager.

They had Gavin Gunning in interim charge following Michael Flynn’s sacking but it remains to be seen whether he will be staying put.

Borges was born in Holland but his family moved Down Under when he was five.

He started his career at Melbourne City and broke into their first-team in 2019 before going on to score two goals in 17 matches.

Macarthur then snapped him up in June last year and he has since become a key player for them, scoring six goals and picking up two assists in 32 matches in all competitions.

The forward penned a two-year deal with the South Western Sydney club meaning he still has another 12 months on his contract.

Coventry City and Swindon Town are now being linked, along with Rangers, and his current team may face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future.
