Chelsea will entertain Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge this Thursday night as they hope to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Blues managed to secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw away at Aston Villa which should give them some confidence ahead of this home game versus Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first team for this game. Axel Disasi will get a chance to impress from the start of this contest in the absence of Thiago Silva who will miss this game due to a groin injury.

Defence

Dorde Petrovic will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Axel Disasi will function alongside Benoit Badiashile at the centre of Pochettino’s defence as they focus on making life tough for the opposition attackers during the 90 minutes.

Trevoh Chalobah will fill in as the right-back while Marc Cucurella hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.

Alfie Gilchrist will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke will play just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to create some decent chances in the final third.

Cesare Casadei will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Nicolas Jackson will lead the charge for the West London club in the final third. He has to find a way to threaten the Tottenham goal during the game.

David Washington will make up the numbers on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the latter stages of the game if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
