In a recent report, Bold.dk stated that Everton are showing interest in Burnley winger Jacob Bruun Larsen, who is currently playing on loan from Hoffenheim. It has been revealed that the Toffees would have to rival West Ham United in the race to land the Danish wide player.
Larsen’s Impressive Loan Spell In English Football
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a decent loan spell at Turf Moor as he has put in a few eye-catching displays for the Lancashire club in the Premier League. Larsen has found the back of the net seven times in 35 matches for Burnley this season across various competitions.
The Danish talent has caught the eye at times in the final third based on his average of 1.4 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 76.2% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Hoffenheim will run out at the end of next season which could open the door for Everton to sign him on the cheap later this year.
Should Everton Move In For Larsen?
Larsen is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can create some decent openings for his teammates from the wide areas. He can even shoot the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring his fair share of goals in the final third. However, the Danish wide player needs to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opposition goal.
Larsen mainly operates as a left-winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player or play in the number ten position if asked to do so. We can expect him to bring more quality and depth to Everton‘s frontline. He is more than capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at Goodison Park next season.
Therefore, the Toffees would be wise to move in for Larsen when the transfer window reopens later this summer. At 25, he has his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for the Merseyside club to consider at the end of this campaign.
