In a recent edition of the Daily Briefing, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Newcastle United are in talks to sign Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo. It has been stated that the Magpies are eager to secure the services of the English defensive ace in the upcoming transfer window.

Adarabioyo’s Decent Form In The Premier League This Season

Adarabioyo has enjoyed a solid campaign at the London club after he produced a handful of dominant displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The 26-year-old has scored two goals in 25 appearances for Fulham this season in multiple competitions.

The English centre-back has been a good performer when defending inside his half as he is averaging 1.1 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been careful when distributing the ball from the back based on his pass success rate of 84.7% in the English top (stats via whoscored).

Adarabioyo’s current contract at Craven Cottage will expire at the end of this campaign which could give Newcastle a chance to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.

What Will Adarabioyo Add To Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe’s Team?

Adarabioyo is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and can use his robust 1.96m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels.

The English talent can even play his way out from the back. He has got some experience in the Premier League under his belt and won’t take much time to settle into life at St. James’ Park if Newcastle manage to bring him on board this summer.

Adarabioyo would add more bite and steel to Eddie Howe’s backline and could help the Magpies cope with fixture congestion better in the coming seasons. Hence, the Tyneside club would be wise to try and recruit him when he comes a free agent at the end of this campaign.

At 26, Adarabioyo is about to enter the peak stage of his career which makes him a great option for Newcastle to consider in the summer transfer period.
