Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is a contender to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager, talkSPORT understands.

The Reds are still drawing up their final shortlist, but have been impressed with the work Slot has done at Feyenoord.

He also scores highly on Liverpool’s data-led approach to choosing Klopp‘s successor.

Slot was sought after by Tottenham before they appointed Ange Postecoglu last summer.

The Dutchman ruled himself out of the running to take over at Spurs where he ended up penning a new deal at De Kuip.

As talkSPORT reported on Monday, Sporting’s Ruben Amorim is not viewed as a likely candidate to take over at Anfield when Klopp leaves this summer.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neil is also not in the running despite reports to the contrary.

Slot has earned rave reviews since linking up with Feyenoord in 2021, with his free-flowing style of play earning plenty of plaudits.

From his 146 games as manager in all competitions, he has overseen 94 victories, with his side scoring 329 goals in the process.

Under Slot’s tutelage, Feyenoord won their second Eredivisie title this century – finishing seven points ahead of PSV.
