Earthy accidentally collided with Alvarez and was left lying on the pitch and fellow players instantly called for the medical teams to come on and help.

They then rushed onto the pitch and following six minutes of treatment, which included the academy star receiving oxygen, he was placed onto a stretcher.

The stretcher was put on the back of a medical truck which drove him towards the tunnel to receive further attention.

West Ham posted a message of support for Earthy on X.

The post read: “George Earthy receives a head injury and is stretchered off the pitch. We’re all behind you, George.”

The Hammers have since given an update on his condition, confirming he has gone to hospital for an assessment but is awake following the clash.

“West Ham United can confirm George Earthy will undergo an assessment in a London hospital this evening following the incident which saw him stretchered off during today's Premier League fixture against Fulham,” the statement read.

“The midfielder – who entered the field as a second-half substitute to make his Premier League debut against the Cottagers – was taken off in stoppage time.”
