Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has said plans are in place for different transfer scenarios this summer and suggested overseas players could become options.

Bolton Wanderers are still in the thick of the League One promotion fight.

A rise in the automatic promotion spots isn’t out of the question yet but barring a Derby County defeat and a four-goal swing, the Trotters will be playing in the play-offs once again as they look to make a long-awaited rise to the Championship.

Of course, the outcome of the season will determine the transfer business Bolton are able to do this summer.

However, that hasn’t stopped those at the ToughSheet Community Stadium from planning for both eventualities.

As quoted by The Bolton News, Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt confirmed that plans are in place for a host of different scenarios. Intriguingly though, with the help of data advisors Ludonautics and Chris Markham, the door may be opening to overseas targets.

“There have been a lot of different scenarios we have had to plan for, and Chris in particular is doing well keeping my head clear for what is important,” Evatt said.

“They are looking to give us the best possible options, regardless of how this season ends.”
