Millwall have brought departing Portsmouth forward Sam Folarin in on trial, as per a report from The News.

Millwall are in a good location when it comes to sourcing young talents. Plenty of prospects from the South London area have earned opportunities in the Lions’ youth ranks over the years.

Some of their academy prospects have come through elsewhere before winding up at The Den though, and this time of the season brings opportunities for potential shrewd additions to the youth ranks.

Clubs up and down the EFL, likely including Millwall, have been deciding over the fates over their current young hopefuls. Some will be let go, and that opens up the door for new faces to come in while the departing starlets bid to earn deals elsewhere.

Now, it seems one starlet who could be on the move to the Championship club is attacker Sam Folarin.

It had been reported that the youngster would be among those let go by League One title winners Portsmouth this summer and The News now claims he is embarking on a two-week trial to try and earn a deal with Millwall.

Folarin has one senior Pompey appearance to his name, also gaining minutes out on loan with Bognor Regis.

The former Crystal Palace academy player is also a two-time Republic of Ireland U18s international.
