MK Dons boss Mike Williamson has said they will have ‘conversations’ with Swindon Town loanee Dawson Devoy regarding his future this summer.

Swindon Town landed the midfielder on a temporary basis in the January transfer window.

Devoy, 22, has since made 15 appearances for the Robins in all competitions but is due to leave at the end of the season.

Williamson has said, as per a report by MK Citizen: “Daws is a great guy, and we saw in patches here how good he can be and the potential he’s got.

“He’s gone there and done really well which I’m made up for, but I don’t know what the future holds. There are many conversations we need to have.”

MK Dons plan talks with Swindon Town loanee

MK Dons have a big decision to make on what to do with Devoy ahead of the next campaign.

He has made a positive impression since his temporary winter switch to Swindon Town and has built his confidence back up.

The ex-Republic of Ireland youth international still has another year left on his deal with his parent club but it remains to be seen whether he is part of their long-term plans at this stage.

Devoy started out at Home Farm and St Kevin’s Boys as a youngster before linking up with Bohemians.

He broke into the first-team of the League of Ireland Premier Division outfit and went on to play 88 matches, scoring 11 goals.

The Dons then lured him over to England in 2022 but they were relegated from League One during his first year.

He played 44 matches last term but he has seen his opportunities dry up over recent times, hence why he was loaned out to Swindon Town.

MK Dons’ immediate focus will be on their upcoming play-off campaign. They face Sutton United at home on the final day this weekend and their opponents need to win and hope Colchester United lose to stay up.

As for the Robins, they play Morecambe but have nothing to play for now.
