Marseille loanee Jordan Amavi to remain at Getafe

French international Marseille loanee Jordan Amavi (28) is set to remain at Getafe, according to a report from L’Equipe. Amavi has been loaned from Marseille, with whom he is tied to a contract until 2025, to the Madrid-based LaLiga side. But he has so far this season failed to prove instrumental for the Azulones, who currently sit in 19th place in the LaLiga standings. The former Nice and Aston Villa man played only four league games with Getafe. He was sent off against Elche in LaLiga gameweek 12 after receiving back-to-back yellow cards inside 6 minutes. Brest and Marseille were in talks over the termination of Amavi’s loan to Getafe, with the Brittany outfit keen to acquire the left-back. But according to L’Équipe, Getafe boss and former Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores would like the Frenchman to stay, despite his limited game time. He was an unused substitute this week-end when Getafe lost at home against Real Betis. The publication states that Brest have now turned their attention to Reims’ left-back Bradley Locko (20) over a possible loan move with an option to buy. Talks are underway. GFFN | Bastien Cheval
