Dujon Sterling has been one of the bright lights of Rangers' up-and-down season.

The versatile right-back, 24, moved to Ibrox in the summer despite being offered a new deal by Premier League giants Chelsea.

Since then the mobile, athletic and industrious full-back has been used all across the park, popping up on both wings and in the middle of the pitch.

Now, Dujon Sterling has given Rangers fans what they wanted with a more honest analysis of the home dressing room at Ibrox.

Only it's an ominous sign of complete collapse as the defender asks his teammates to show more intensity.

Haven't we seen this movie before?

Dujon Sterling in ominous Rangers admission

Speaking after a disastrous week for Rangers, Dujon Sterling has seen his teammates drop points against Ross County and Dundee to hand Celtic the title advantage.

Claiming that he can't quite put his finger on what's gone wrong, Sterling claims his teammates need to "reset" and play like a team in the midst of a title race.

Ominously, Sterling reckons that by the intensity of the team's play, you wouldn't know they're battling for the top prizes.

"It's difficult to say any words really," said Sterling. "It is not good enough on our part. We have a lot of work to do and we need to reset.

“We need to get our heads in the game and switch our mentality because for now, it is not going in the right direction.

“There is still a lot of games to be played and there’s still things to fight for. It is just disappointing and I don’t really know what to say.

“We are fighting for a title and the way we are playing, it is as if we are not playing for anything. It's like the season is dead and it is a dead rubber game. Somehow it has got to switch. It is a team thing, not just one person and not just the gaffer.”

The comments come after Rangers leadership trio James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, and John Lundstram were publicly criticised for crumbling under the title "pressure".

Ibrox defender makes public appeal to fans

Dujon Sterling has also been making a public appeal to supporters as Rangers prepare for "five cup finals" in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement urged his team to win every game following the Scottish Premiership split, something the Ibrox club have never achieved before.

Having also appealed to fans to keep their nerve, Dujon Sterling has asked supporters to back the team and help them over the line.

Even if they're "angry" with what's being served up.

"We owe ourselves a performance as well because we have been s*** the past three games," said Sterling.

“I think we need to reset and do it for the fans as well because they have come home and away, backing us, singing for 90 minutes and we owe it to them.

“Obviously I understand why the fans are angry after the game but hopefully they can still back us for the rest of the game and still push us on.

"The past two weeks have featured disappointing results and I know they [the fans] have seen it before over the past years. Hopefully we can change that but we will see.”

Dujon Sterling has made 30 appearances for Rangers this season, scoring one goal and laying on one assist.
