Rangers took on Dundee with Philippe Clement looking to bounce back from the demoralising defeat in Dingwall.

The Gers boss has more depth in his squad now but is still missing key players in attack along with Ridvan Yilmaz and Mohamed Diomande as he looks to bring the Scottish Premiership title back to Ibrox.

Here are your Rangersplayer ratings for the fourth trip to Dundee’s Scot Foam Park this season as we served up another shocker.

Rangers v Dundee – Player ratings

Philippe Clement knew that a repeat of the performance against Ross County was unacceptable and made a few changes:

Jack Butland – 6

A quiet first half saw him deal mainly with passbacks on a tricky surface, one at waist height from Connor Goldson made sure he was awake.

Nothing else to do.

James Tavernier – 5

Plenty of running and got up into the final third to support the attack but the final pass wasn’t there, needed to link with Abdallah Sima more because that was causing Dundee problems.

Dujon Sterling – 5

Defended diligently, got into some good attacking positions too. Yes, it’s not his natural side but needs to use his left foot more if covering at left-back.

Connor Goldson – 5

Solid defensively but kept launching long balls out for goal kicks.

John Souttar – 7

As with Goldson, looked more comfortable, dribbled out from the back on a few occasions and tried to get more passing going with midfield.

Easily our best player.

John Lundstram – 2

Offered nothing in possession, constantly gave the ball away and gifted a couple of chances too.

Almost looked like he was hiding in the second half.

Todd Cantwell – 5

Had to drop deep to get on the ball because too many passes were going over his head, struggled to make anything happen.

Tom Lawrence – 6

Shot wide when he created a chance for himself with a decent run, settled into the game and always looked to play into feet rather than into space.

Lovely ball across the face of the goal at the start of the second half that went begging.

Looked the most likely to break the deadlock.

Abdallah Sima – 5

Rangers most threatening player should have opened the scoring on a couple of occasions in the first half.

Kemar Roofe – 5

Had almost no service in the first-half and had to beat players just to get hold onto possession.

Fabio Silva – 4

Didn’t do enough in 1v1 situations when he had the chance and didn’t create any chances for teammates either, defended well though.

Signing wingers who can make a difference really is a priority in the summer.

Substitutes

Rabbi Matondo – 5

Every time he got the ball he had three players on him, needs to do more than cut inside and shoot.

Cyriel Dessers – 5

One good run and shot that forced a save, nothing else.

Kieran Dowell – 5

Hardly touched the ball.

Ross McCausland – 5

Not enough time to make an impact.
