Player who left Dundee United in 2022 joins EFL club ahead of Walsall trip

Doncaster Rovers have signed striker Maxime Biamou following his exit from Dundee United in 2022, as announced by their official club website.

Doncaster Rovers have handed the attacker a short-term contract as they look to rise up the League Two table.

Biamou, 33, has been on trial with the Yorkshire club over recent times and played in a behind-closed-doors clash against Tranmere Rovers recently.

Rovers have now confirmed he has signed for them until the summer, subject to international clearance. He has been handed the number 36 shirt ahead of their weekend away game against Walsall.

New face at Doncaster Rovers

Biamou is a risk-free addition for Doncaster and will give them more competition and depth in attacking areas between now and the end of the campaign.

He will also inject some more experience into Grant McCann’s ranks as they look to climb away from the bottom two.

The Frenchman started out in his native country with spells as a youngster at Villemomble Sports and Moulins Yzeure before moving to England in 2016 to link up with Sutton United.

He was a hit during his year with the U's and scored 13 goals in all competitions whilst they were in the National League to earn a switch to Coventry City.

Biamou then spent four years with the Sky Blues and helped them rise from the fourth tier to the Championship during his time there, scoring 26 goals in 115 outings altogether.

He left Mark Robins' side at the end of the 2020/21 campaign and was subsequently snapped up by Dundee United on a free transfer. However, he struggled to make an impact in Scotland and left after playing only three matches.

Doncaster have been in decent form recently and will be eager to keep their momentum going against Walsall.
